Fans of the Los Angeles Dodgers, San Diego Padres and baseball in general were hugely annoyed by a delay between picture and sound on Sunday Night Baseball.

Seriously ESPN? Of all the nights to have technical issues disrupt a baseball game, this was not the one.

When the Dodgers and Padres opened Game 4 of their thrilling regular-season series, viewers were irate over a delay between the video and the audio.

You could hear the pitch hit the catcher’s glove before the pitcher even made it through his windup.

It just wasn’t a good listening or viewing experience and fans let ESPN know it in no uncertain terms.

ESPN won’t be happy to hear it drove some fans away from the broadcast.

Dodgers fans are missing SportsNet LA.

ESPN should be embarrassed over a technical issue during a huge game

Even though ESPN eventually fixed the issue, having one at all during Sunday Night Baseball is hugely embarrassing. This game between the Dodgers and Padres was appointment viewing given the fierce rivalry between the two clubs. It’s as close to playoff baseball as you can find in April.

The Padres took the first two games of the series with a 3-2 victory in Game 1 and a 6-1 rout in Game 2. The Dodgers came back to win Game 3 5-4 with some juicy trolling between Fernando Tatis Jr. and Trever Bauer.

The San Diego star hit two home runs and taunted Bauer over his one-eyed antics in Spring Training. The Dodgers pitcher got the win and embraced Tatis Jr’s celebrations, only to later accuse him of stealing signs on Twitter.

Sunday night was supposed to bring forth the conclusion to the series, with the Padres looking to win the series outright and the Dodgers hoping to draw even.
