Los Angeles Angels centerfielder Mike Trout came back from a bruised elbow looking even better than before, which is just ridiculous.

Mike Trout missed three games for the Los Angeles Angels because of a bruised elbow. If you thought that would slow him down, think again.

The centerfielder returned to the lineup on Monday and was somehow even better than before.

His first four at-bats included four hits and two RBI. His numbers 18 games into the season have only increased.

That’s the best batting average, on-base percentage and slugging percentage in baseball.

Others have come for Trout’s crown as the best in the game. His MVP nods have been split by Josh Donaldson, Jose Altuve, Mookie Betts and Jose Abreu.

When it comes to consistent greatness, no one has Trout beat. Just when you might have thought he couldn’t up the ante, he’s managed to do it by putting in one of the best stretches of his career to start the 2021 season.

Can he maintain it for the whole season? At this point, who is willing to doubt Trout? He’s not one to go hot and cold. He’s very, incredibly, insanely good all the time.

Then again, maybe we all should have known Trout would come back with this kind of flair. After all, he was playing the Texas Rangers, a team he has relished facing throughout his career.

With four added to his total, Trout has more hits against Texas than any other opponent. He’s .327/.450/.623 against them all-time.

When it comes to home runs, Trout has 40 at the expense of Rangers pitchers. That’s second only to the Seattle Mariners. He didn’t get a home run in his first five at-bats on Monday, but there’s time for some later. The series between LA and Texas will continue on Tuesday and Wednesday.
