If you’re getting emotional watching that video Boston put together, we assure you that you’re not alone here. The team really did a special job honoring such a special basketball player and person. Clarke, 19, had recently declared for the NBA Draft and was in California training.
“I am absolutely gutted and sick tonight,” John Calipari said in a statement from the Wildcats. “A young person who we all love has just lost his life too soon, one with all of his dreams and hopes ahead of him. Terrence Clarke was a beautiful kid, someone who owned the room with his personality, smile and joy. People gravitated to him, and to hear we have lost him is just hard for all of us to comprehend right now. We are all in shock.”
Clarke averaged 10 points and three rebounds per game during his freshman season at Kentucky. A foot injury sidelined him for most of the year, but he was working his way back to full health and had NBA scouts drooling at the thought of picking him before the heartbreaking car crash took place.
