Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Logan Paul official for June 6
Mayweather Promotions announced on Twitter that the Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Logan Paul exhibition is set for Sunday, June 6.
According to Mayweather Promotions’ Twitter account, the long-discussed exhibition bout between boxing legend Floyd Mayweather Jr. and social media star Logan Paul is official.
The promotional company tweeted out the message in the evening on April 27.
“The historic crossover event is signed & sealed!” read the tweet. “Mayweather vs. Paul live at Hard Rock Sunday, June 6th.”

Originally, Mayweather and Paul were supposed to fight on Feb. 20, but the fight was postponed. The fight was supposed to appear on pay-per-view through Fanmio. They had a funky pay-per-view model in place with escalating prices based on the purchase date.
On April 21, The Athletic’s Mike Coppinger tweeted that Mayweather vs. Paul was going down on June 5 and would be carried through Showtime pay-per-view. Showtime pay-per-view is carrying the fight, according to a message on their Twitter account. It seems that Showtime is working in conjunction with Fanmio.

Coppinger suggested in another tweet that famed manager Al Haymon owned the rights to the fight and was trying to deal for the best offer from networks. Mayweather Promotions CEO Leonard Ellerbe took objection to Coppinger’s comments and fired back with a tweet of his own.
TMZ later announced that the date for the fight was moved to Sunday, June 6.
Mayweather (50-0, 27 KOs) is widely regarded as one of the best boxers in history. He retired undefeated after pounding out MMA star Conor McGregor for a round 10 TKO in 2017. Mayweather vs. McGregor sold millions of pay-per-view buys. It’s unlikely that Mayweather vs. Paul comes close to the money generated from Mayweather vs. McGregor.
Paul is a popular YouTuber who lost his one and only professional contest against fellow social media star KSI. Paul obviously lacks the experience to be taken seriously against Mayweather, but at 26 years old, he is 18 years younger than the 44-year-old Mayweather. He is also six inches taller than Mayweather.
Since the bout is taking place at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, fans will be in attendance. You can also watch from home for $49.99.
