Fantastic news has arrived for the New York Giants, as it’s looking like superstar running back Saquon Barkley will be all set to go for Week 1.

New York Giants fans still can’t get over the fact that star running back Saquon Barkley missed the majority of the 2020 campaign. In a showdown with the Chicago Bears Week 2, Barkley went down with his ACL tear and was lost for the rest of the year. You know he’s been working overtime trying to get back to full health, though.

According to ESPN insider Adam Schefter, things have gone so well in his rehab, the speedster is expected to be ready to rock for the season-opener in September. Giants fans everywhere are rejoicing.

Running back Saquon Barkley is on track to be ready for Week 1 of the 2021 campaign

When Barkley is healthy, he’s without question one of the best running backs in the league. He’s a touchdown machine and can make opposing defenses look silly when he’s carrying the pigskin, and also when he’s catching balls from Daniel Jones.

Entering his fourth season in the NFL, Barkley really announced his arrival to the league his first two years with the Giants. His rookie season in 2018, he earned Pro Bowl honors after rushing for 1,307 yards and 11 touchdowns. In 13 contests the following season, the 5-foot-11, 233-pounder rushed for 1,003 yards and six scores.

Looking ahead to this fall, Barkley will obviously play a massive role in helping the offense get off to a hot start and keep things that way throughout the year. The Giants went a disappointing 6-10 last year, which will never be acceptable in East Rutherford. Only time will tell if New York and Barkley can both have a big bounce-back year in 2021.
