1. Kellen Mond

Kellen Mond is only 21 years old and already boasts a ton of starting experience. He has more than plenty of other quarterbacks in his class as well. That could mean he goes far earlier than some expect.

He is another player the Vikings can consider if available with either of those two third-round picks. Or they may even want to trade up, given reported interest in Mond.

Mond’s youth is perfect for Minnesota. He can learn behind Cousins for a minimum of two seasons and still be 23 years old when ready to assume the starting role. He is a player who threw for nearly 10,000 yards at Texas A&M and he also ran for over 1,600 yards in his college career.

Someone like Newman comes with unknowns because of the lack of playing time. Mond is the opposite type of player. He never threw more than 10 interceptions in any season and was a reliable starter at all times. That experience has to have plenty of NFL GMs planning a big move for the young man likely on Friday.

Cousins will turn 33 years old in August and has yet to be an elite quarterback in Minnesota. Drafting one of these three players can give the team a replacement option if the Cousins experiment looks to be going nowhere in 2022.
