The Miami Dolphins drafted Alabama wide receiver Jaylen Waddle with the sixth overall pick, reuniting him with quarterback Tua Tagovailoa.

With the fifth-overall pick, the Cincinnati Bengals decided to have an LSU reunion with quarterback Joe Burrow by selecting wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase. The Miami Dolphins, who held the following pick, thought that was a great idea.

The Dolphins selected Alabama wide receiver Jaylen Waddle with the sixth-overall pick of the 2021 NFL Draft, linking him up with former Crimson Tide quarterback Tua Tagovailoa.

Waddle made a name for himself during his time at Alabama for his tremendous speed and route-running skills. Even after coming off an ankle injury, Waddle was heavily projected to go in the top 15 of the NFL Draft.

In his three years with the Crimson Tide, Waddle recorded 106 catches for 1,999 yards and 17 touchdowns.

Not only does Waddle get to reunite with Tagovailoa, but he also joins an impressive receiving corps consisting of DeVante Parker, Will Fuller and Mike Gesicki. With the team just barely missing out on the playoffs last season, the Dolphins obviously wanted to put the team over the top.

Tagovailoa now has all the resources around him to step up from a rather down rookie campaign to a hopefully great second year down in South Beach. Adding a pass-catcher who has chemistry with the quarterback will certainly help with that on paper.
