Urban Meyer reunites Clemson legends Trevor Lawrence and Travis Etienne on Jaguars
Thanks to Urban Meyer and the Jacksonville Jaguars, Clemson football stars Trevor Lawrence and Travis Etienne will continue to write their story together.
Trevor Lawrence and Travis Etienne won a national title together at Clemson. Now they have a chance to compete for Super Bowl titles as well.
Jaguars head coach Urban Meyer didn’t pass up the chance to add the teammates to his roster when Jacksonville went on the clock for the second time in the first round.
Lawrence went No. 1 overall as expected. Etienne followed at No. 25.
Trevor Lawrence and Travis Etienne made history going to the Jaguars.
You’d think a quarterback and running back landing on the same team would have happened at least once before, but it hasn’t. Lawrence and Etienne are the first passing and rushing collegiate duo drafted together in the first round.
It truly was an exciting night for Jaguars fans. They found their quarterback of the future while giving him support in the run game.
Jacksonville found a diamond in the rough when undrafted free agent James Robinson rushed for 1,070 yards and caught 49 passes as a rookie in 2020. Pairing Etienne with Robinson should give the Jaguars a dangerous rushing attack to take the pressure off Lawrence as he settles into the pro game.
