Mac Jones could reportedly end up heading to the Saints to replace Drew Brees in New Orleans.

The Mac Jones rumors are dominating coverage leading up to the 2021 NFL Draft. He could reportedly go as high as No. 3 to the San Francisco 49ers, but could also fall deep into the first round. No one really knows except the teams in the mix.

Jones is linked to teams all over the league and a new report is connecting him to the New Orleans Saints. The Saints could even trade up into the top 10 to acquire him as the next franchise quarterback.

Saints could reportedly trade up for Mac Jones

Saying the Saints could trade up for a defensive player leads that target more open-ended. But when it comes to a quarterback, Jones is on their radar.

Drew Brees has retired and that leaves Taysom Hill and Jameis Winston to compete for the starting job. Acquiring Jones would give New Orleans a new quarterback of the future and could perhaps mean Winston is traded away.

Jones is a part of what could be a historically large group of quarterbacks taken early in the first round. These rumors should not be ignored and the fact the Saints could trade up could convince other teams to do the same.

The Saints reportedly having interest in Jones also begs the question of if they would trade up for another quarterback if he goes at pick No. 3. Or could they trade up to that pick?

The drama is real leading up to the first round and where the top quarterbacks end up is going to create storylines that will have fans talking for months. Jones remains one of the most intriguing players to keep an eye on early Thursday night.
