The 2021 Kentucky Derby lineup is complete with 19 hopefuls set to participate in the most anticipated horse race of the year. Who’s running this time?

The 2021 Kentucky Derby is on the way, which means it’s time to familiarize yourself with the latest field of hopeful horses.

With one scratch, there are 19 runners in the race that will draw thousands to Churchill Downs, elaborate hats and all.

This year, it’s all about Essential Quality, the undefeated two-year-old who won the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile. Who will try to keep the favorite from the crown?

  18. Super Stock (30-1)
  19. Soup and Sandwich (30-1)
  20. Bourbonic (30-1)

King Fury was scratched because of a high fever, which is unfortunate because he won a race on Apr. 10 and could have been an interesting figure in this one.

Could Rock Your World rock the racing world by besting Essential Quality? The dark bay/brown horse is undefeated in three starts including a Santa Anita Derby victory over fellow Kentucky Derby horse Medina Spirit.

While still a 30-1 longshot, Bourbonic pulled off a 72-1 upset in the Wood Memorial at the start of April. So if you see No. 20 with a late surge, hold your breath.

Other longshots highlighted by the Washington Post as ones to watch include Highly Motivated and O Besos.

Known Agenda had the misfortune of drawing the rail, so the chestnut will need to overcome that hurdle to live up to the odds.

It should be a fun one to watch on Saturday. And if hearing about Soup and Sandwich makes you a bit hungry, you can’t be blamed. The race will be right around dinner time at 6:27 p.m. ET on NBC.
