Only the Mets could give up 2 runs on a strikeout (Video)

The Philadelphia Phillies scored two runs on a strikeout by New York Mets starting pitcher Marcus Stroman. This always happens to the Mets.
New York’s mediocre start to the regular season hasn’t helped matters, especially with new franchise icon Francisco Lindor barely hitting over the Mendoza line and getting booed on a nightly basis at Citi Field.
Against the Phillies on Friday night, Stroman thought he’d recorded the third out on a stirkeout of Chase Anderson with the bases loaded. Unfortunately, the ball was dropped by free agent acquisition James McCann, and two runs were allowed to score thanks to some whacky deflections.
The Phillies got extremely lucky to score their first runs against the Mets
Every baseball game involves a little bit of luck. When you’re playing the Mets, you are generally on the right side of that predicament.
The Phillies and Mets are tied for the NL East lead with the Atlanta Braves. So, needless to say, this is a big series, which is exactly why Sunday’s contest will be featured on ESPN.
For now, the Phillies will take their runs, in hopes that there is more to come against one of the more electric starting pitchers in the National League.
