Minkah Fitzpatrick is pleased to see fellow Alabama football alum Najee Harris joining the Pittsburgh Steelers.

All-Pro safety Minkah Fitzpatrick loved seeing his Pittsburgh Steelers take fellow Alabama football alum Najee Harris with the No. 24 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.

Harris was the sixth of six Alabama first-rounders selected on Thursday night. While he could have theoretically come off the board a few picks earlier to Fitzpatrick’s former employer in the Miami Dolphins at No. 18, Harris looks to be right at home in Pittsburgh. It does not come as much of a surprise that the Steelers would address a major need at running back late in the first round.

Together, maybe these Bama boys can help get the Steelers back to the Super Bowl this season?

Pittsburgh Steelers: Minkah Fitzpatrick is on board with the Najee Harris pick

Since arriving in Tuscaloosa, Nick Saban has turned the Crimson Tide into a pro football factory. While many of his star college players do not pan out in the NFL, you can easily argue Fitzpatrick as being one of the five best to ever play for Saban at Alabama. He is on a Pro Football Hall of Fame trajectory already. Harris has to prove his doubters wrong, but he could be a special one.

Comparing Harris to 2015 Heisman Trophy winner Derrick Henry coming out of Alabama is largely unfair, but he is the nearest approximation to the Tennessee Titans bell-cow back we have seen exit Tuscaloosa in half a decade. Even if Harris is not the next Franco Harris in Pittsburgh, Steelers fans are hoping he can provide the necessary balance they have been missing in the backfield.

If Fitzpatrick is excited about seeing Harris coming to the Steelers, then you should be, too.
