The Pittsburgh Steelers got some special teams help in the form of Georgia Tech punter Pressley Harvin III, who they selected in the seventh round.
Jordan Berry is on high alert, as the Steelers clearly weren’t satisfied with their fourth-down game last season. Berry was cut before the start of last season, but re-signed with the team and averaged a career-best 45.8 yards per punt. Harvin is expected to challenge Berry for the starting job come training camp.
“He has a naturally powerful leg,” general manager Kevin Colbert said of Harvin. “We’re excited to have him come in and join the competition.”
Steelers’ Harvi already making an impression
At the Hall of Fame Game, NFL fans took notice of Harvin.

Harvin was the only punter selected in the NFL Draft, and served as the final Steelers pick in 2021.
New Steelers punter Pressley Harvin III going viral for his many traits
Harvin III could challenge most ACC linebackers. While he’ll have a tough time doing so in the NFL, he won’t be afraid to stick his nose in to tackle a return man. Just look at this guy.
Pressley Harvin III, just drafted by the Steelers, is:

—the first Black man ever to win the Ray Guy trophy (nation's best punter)
—an accomplished saxophone player
—surprisingly good at throwing!
—the heaviest punter ever drafted (256 pounds)

Harvin led the ACC with a 49 yards-per-punt average. Assuming he can bring that same production to the NFL, he’ll easily beat our Berry for the starting job. The man can drop dimes, too, in case you were wondering.

The options available to Steelers special teams coordinator Danny Smith are endless.
Harvin won the Ray Guy Award as the nation’s top punter in 2020. As much as social media loves him, he’ll be a productive player in Pittsburgh as well. What’s not to love?
