Carmelo Anthony made history in Monday night’s game against the Atlanta Hawks, breaking into the top 10 of the NBA’s all-time scorer list.

Carmelo Anthony has written a book, and now he’s one of the top-10 all-time leading scorers in NBA history. Depending on your priorities, it’s difficult to say which feat is more impressive.

In the second quarter of the game against the Atlanta Hawks Monday night, the Portland Trail Blazers forward casually drilled a 3-pointer over Danilo Gallinari and got the foul. Could he have entered the elite top-10 scoring list with more style than that? It’s just classic Melo.

Following the shot, Anthony raised both arms in the air, Gladiator-style. With a stoic look of unbreakable confidence and that gleaming glint of glory in his eyes, he slowly made his way to the free-throw line.

And-one.

Carmelo Anthony joins yet another elite club as one of the NBA’s top-10 all-time scorers

It didn’t take long in the game for Anthony to crack the top 10, and after his 4-point-play, he moved to 27,314 career points. By scoring 14 points in the game, he moved to 27,318 points overall. Moses Malone sits ahead of him in ninth with 27,409 points.

At 36 years old, Anthony continues to shine after resurrecting his career in Portland. He’s averaging 13.6 points, 3.2 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game this season, and he’s playing on a playoff-vying team at that.

Expect this to be just one of many milestones that will likely land the big man in the Hall of Fame and gain him legendary status with the Blazers franchise. Career achievement mode unlocked.
