The Bears executed a nearly flawless 2021 NFL Draft. Read on to learn about Chicago’s three best selections of the weekend.

General manager Ryan Pace and head coach Matt Nagy are facing a make or break season for the Bears. Fortunately, they added a lot of high-end talent to their mediocre roster during the 2021 NFL Draft. Fans in Chicago should be ecstatic about their team’s talent haul from the weekend.

Moving up for Justin Fields in Round 1 cost the team valuable draft capital, but Pace and his front office still managed to recover and land significant value each time the Bears went on the clock. Their draft class stacks up favorably with any other franchise in the NFL’s work during all seven rounds.

Selecting Chicago’s three best moves of the weekend was difficult, but the following three picks stood out about the rest. The list starts with a wide receiver who can help support whoever Chicago deploys at quarterback when the regular season kicks off.

3. Dazz Newsome

Newsome falling all the way down to Round 6 caught a lot of draft experts by surprise. He may lack the size and strength to hold up on the outside, but he projects as an above-average slot receiver at the NFL level.

That makes him a great addition alongside Allen Robinson for Chicago. They don’t need Newsome to run a sophisticated route tree right away. Simply adding his speed and playmaking ability on the inside will start to open up the Bears’ passing game right away.

Newsome doesn’t have star potential, but that’s not a reasonable expectation for a sixth rounder. He does project as a guy who can help Chicago right away. That’s why he is the Bears’ third best pick of the weekend.
