Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James will miss the team’s next two games in order to not put too much stress on his ankle.

The return of LeBron James from his ankle injury appears to have been too good to be true for the Los Angeles Lakers. With James returning last Friday against the Sacramento Kings, his time back on the hardwood was short-lived, as he re-injured his bum ankle on Sunday.

Now, the Lakers are getting ready to proceed with caution with James. After sitting out Monday’s contest, ESPN insider Adrian Wojnarowski is reporting that James will miss at least the next two games. This, of course, is not what Lakers fans were hoping to see.

LeBron James re-injured his ankle and will miss at least the next two games

This really isn’t what Frank Vogel and his coaching staff were hoping to see. With James originally missing so much time with his ankle injury, the hope was that he was back close to 100 percent and could finish out the season strong.

Now, James will be out the next two showdowns against the LA Clippers and Portland Trail Blazers, but it wouldn’t be a surprise if he ends up missing additional games as well. The last thing LA is going to want to do is rush him back to the court too soon. Imagine if they do and James injures himself so bad that he’ll miss the postseason. Yup, the Lakers won’t risk that whatsoever.

For now, James will rest up that ankle and continue to get treatments on it. Fortunately, the Lakers still have a stacked lineup and can win games without him. However, that won’t be the case if they want to win the Finals again. They need James, and bad.
