The baseball world got to celebrate a second no-hitter this week thanks to the Cincinnati Reds Wade Miley, the journeyman wearing a temporary tattoo.

Have baseball fans had enough of no-hitters yet? No way.

The Reds and baseball buffs in general enjoyed the ride on Friday night when Wade Miley no-hit the Indians in Cleveland.

With eight strikeouts and one walk, Miley delivered the 17th no-no in Reds history.

It was the first for the club since 2013.

Wade Miley’s no-hitter for the Reds was surprising but awesome

Reds fans certainly found ways to enjoy it to the fullest.

Though some Cincinnati fans were still bracing for bad news.

Thanks to his son, Miley now has the perfect way to celebrate this one himself.

The only hiccup? Miley isn’t going to get the tattoo.

He’s an old man compared to most other no-hitter throwing pitchers.

That fact makes this one feel that much more special.

For Indians fans, the night had a different feel.

The 2021 MLB season has already seen four no-hitters this season. Miley’s came on the back of John Means completing his no-hitter on Wednesday for the Orioles.

It’s been a year for no-hitters to come in pairs. Joe Musgrove of the Padres had the first of the year on Apr. 9. Five days later, Carlos Rodon got one for the White Sox.

That’s not even mentioning Madison Bumgarner’s seven-inning no-hitter on Apr. 25.

There were four acknowledged no-hitters during the 2019 season. If you count Bumgarner’s (and MLB doesn’t), 2021 already has more in less than two months of action. But it’s not close to the record. In 2015, 2012, 1991 and 1990, there were seven. The 1884 season included eight.

With months left to go, a run at the record is on.
