The baseball world got to celebrate a second no-hitter this week thanks to the Cincinnati Reds Wade Miley, the journeyman wearing a temporary tattoo.
Have baseball fans had enough of no-hitters yet? No way.
The Reds and baseball buffs in general enjoyed the ride on Friday night when Wade Miley no-hit the Indians in Cleveland.
With eight strikeouts and one walk, Miley delivered the 17th no-no in Reds history.

It was the first for the club since 2013.

Wade Miley’s no-hitter for the Reds was surprising but awesome
Reds fans certainly found ways to enjoy it to the fullest.

I have chills.. Wade Miley just pitched a no hitter, and Derek Johnson deserves his own statue

Though some Cincinnati fans were still bracing for bad news.
Wade Miley throws no hitter. MLB - “that’s too much good news for @Reds , Miley will be suspended 5 games. He will appeal”

Will Wade Miley be suspended for a benches clearing incident?! #GoReds #MLB

Thanks to his son, Miley now has the perfect way to celebrate this one himself.
Wade Miley just said his son made him wear a temporary Hulk tattoo on his arm tonight and he threw a no hitter... gotta get that inked.

Wade Miley credited his son, Jeb, for the no-hitter good luck charm because he made him wear a "sticker Hulk tattoo" on his forearm before the game. pic.twitter.com/YGblO6aG2G

The only hiccup? Miley isn’t going to get the tattoo.
I love the moments of humanity that you get from cool moments, like the post-game tidbit from Wade Miley
— Mark Simon (@MarkASimonSays) May 8, 2021
He went out of his way to note:
His son made him wear a fake Hulk tattoo today.
He'll never get a real one because he's scared of needles.
He’s an old man compared to most other no-hitter throwing pitchers.
Wade Miley is the oldest (34y, 127d) NL pitcher to throw a no-hitter since Randy Johnson (40y, 251d) in 2004.

That fact makes this one feel that much more special.
Baseball is well-known for its journeymen. For those players, life in the majors isn’t always as magical as it’s made out to be. But sometimes, every once in a while, the Baseball Gods shine down upon them for one incredible night.

Tonight was Wade Miley’s night. pic.twitter.com/4w1d9cbT4D
For Indians fans, the night had a different feel.
Going from a four-game sweep of the first-place Royals to being no-hit by Wade Miley. From highs to rock-bottom lows. This season is going to test my sanity.

The 2021 MLB season has already seen four no-hitters this season. Miley’s came on the back of John Means completing his no-hitter on Wednesday for the Orioles.
It’s been a year for no-hitters to come in pairs. Joe Musgrove of the Padres had the first of the year on Apr. 9. Five days later, Carlos Rodon got one for the White Sox.
That’s not even mentioning Madison Bumgarner’s seven-inning no-hitter on Apr. 25.
There were four acknowledged no-hitters during the 2019 season. If you count Bumgarner’s (and MLB doesn’t), 2021 already has more in less than two months of action. But it’s not close to the record. In 2015, 2012, 1991 and 1990, there were seven. The 1884 season included eight.
With months left to go, a run at the record is on.
