Adam Thielen torching Lambeau for being a bad stadium will have Packers fans heated
By Scott Rogust
Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Adam Thielen is angering Green Bay Packers fans for his take on Lambeau Field.
It is absolutely no secret that the Minnesota Vikings and Green Bay Packers are sworn enemies. But one Vikings player probably singlehandedly rose the blood pressure of the entire Packers fanbase with one comment.
During an appearance on Golf.com’s Subpar show, Vikings wide receiver Adam Thielen was asked which road stadium does he enjoy playing at most. Thielen answered with Lambeau Field, especially when they beat the Packers. From there, Thielen said that compared to Minnesota’s U.S. Bank Stadium, Lambeau Field is “not nice.”
You can listen to Thielen’s full comments on Lambeau Field at the 26:22 mark of this video.
Vikings: Adam Thielen gives his honest opinion on Lambeau Field
Well, Thielen did say that he enjoys playing at Lambeau Field, albeit following a victory. But on the other side that he mentions, the wideout says there is nothing worse than when the Vikings lose to the Packers at Lambeau.
Through his seven-year career, Thielen carries a 3-3-1 record when playing at the “Frozen Tundra.” The latest win came this past season in a 28-22 victory, where Thielen caught three-of-four targets for 27 yards.
Thielen is coming off a 74 receptions for 925 yards and a career-high 14 touchdowns through 15 regular-season games in 2020. This season, the Vikings will look to make a return to the playoffs for the first time since 2019 after adding a plethora of talent through free agency and the NFL Draft.
Expect Thielen to get anything but a warm welcome from the Packers faithful once he steps onto Lambeau Field in the 2021 season. But the real question will be if Aaron Rodgers will be the quarterback for Green Bay at that time. If not, that road game will be that much more important for the Vikings.
