With the NFL removing ‘Rodgers vs Mahomes’ from its 2021 preview video, it really feels like the former is done suiting up for Green Bay even more.

Folks across the country are counting down the days for Week 1 of the 2021 NFL campaign to arrive. One of the biggest games on the schedule will no question be the showdown between the Green Bay Packers and Kansas City Chiefs in Week 17.

However, the NFL decided to no longer hype up the Aaron Rodgers vs. Patrick Mahomes battle in its latest video previewing the season. Why? Well, because as more time passes, it’s feeling less and less likely Rodgers will play for Green Bay this upcoming fall.

Aaron Rodgers’ status with the Green Bay Packers is completely up in the air

If you’re a Packers fan, any kind of negative update on Rodgers has to hurt the soul. He’s been one of the best quarterbacks in the game since he made his debut as the starter. Now, he and Green Bay are going through a nasty divorce.

All this is doing is adding even more anxiety and depression for folks who miss seeing the Packers in action. If Rodgers indeed decides to retire or sit out next season, it will be the Jordan Love show for Green Bay’s offense.

General manager Brian Gutekunst used his first-round pick on him last year because he believes he can be the signal-caller of the future. With that said, Rodgers was named MVP last year after throwing for 48 touchdowns and only five interceptions. He’s playing at an elite level and could potentially help the team win a Super Bowl next winter.

With that said, the relationship between him and the front office may not be fixed. Come Week 17, we could be seeing Mahomes vs. Love, instead of Mahomes vs. Rodgers.
