Paul Finebaum gives his take on Tennessee football star Henry To’o To’o transferring to the star-studded Alabama football program.
Seeing former Tennessee football standout Henry To’o To’o transfer to the loaded Alabama football program left an impression on iconic college football talk show host Paul Finebaum.
“It’s astonishing,” said Finebaum Monday’s edition of The Roundtable on WJOX. “When you look at that portal, I think it was Bruce Feldman’s list of the top-40 pickups, the number of players that have come from Tennessee is remarkable.”
“It’s stunning and sad for the program, because they have let most of their best players go. Now, I realize they picked up a couple of quarterbacks, so there is give and take.”
“Do I remember in early March everyone saying that this was the best recruiting class that not only Nick Saban has had at Alabama, but maybe the best of all time? It is truly astonishing.”
Paul Finebaum reacts to former Vols LB Henry To’o To’o transferring to Alabama
Brace yourselves for an incredibly painful year on Rocky Top, Vols fans. The amount of players who have left Knoxville is alarming. It makes sense with the coaching change and potential sanctions looming over the program.
However, to see a star linebacker like To’o To’o transfer to a traditional rival in Alabama has to make your stomach hurt if you bleed Tennessee orange.
New head coach Josh Heupel and new athletic director Danny White are going to have to ride this out the best they can. They can only control what they can control, but will have to deal with the consequences of the actions played out by their predecessors.
All the while, To’o To’o is on the precipice of potentially winning a national championship before he enters the 2023 NFL Draft.
