NFL fans react to Jaguars plans to sign Tim Tebow to play tight end
A mixture of skepticism and excitement swept over NFL Twitter when the Jacksonville Jaguars reportedly decided to sign Tim Tebow as a tight end.
What a time it is to be alive.
Urban Meyer is coaching in the NFL. Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck are back together. And now Tim Tebow is back.
On Monday, a report from NFL Network suggested the Jaguars are going to sign Tebow to a one-year deal as a tight end.
NFL Twitter could hardly contain itself with skepticism, reminiscing and dreaming.
NFL fans had varied reactions to Tim Tebow’s return
It’s been a long, long time since Tebow played in the NFL.
Colin Kaepernick fans took notice right away.
A Tebow return means a look back at a classic Tebow locker room speech.
Even if he doesn’t pan out as a tight end, Meyer certainly wants that kind of energy in the locker room.
Of course, some memorable college moments had to flood the timeline.
Others remembered his days as a quarterback in the NFL fondly.
There’s a simple financial reason for the Jaguars to take the chance on Tebow.
But can he really play tight end?
Still, Jaguars fans couldn’t help but wonder about the possibilities.
The trio of Urban Meyer, Trevor Lawrence and Tim Tebow is certainly an unexpected one.
First things first, Tebow has to sign with the Jaguars officially. Then he’ll have to actually make the team. Signing a contract doesn’t guarantee that, especially for a soon-to-be-34-year-old with no experience playing a new position.
Jacksonville just guaranteed all eyes will be on their training camp, which was probably already going to be the case with Trevor Lawrence helming the offense.
