Cam Heyward has great response to Steelers fans whining about tough schedule
By Kristen Wong
Pittsburgh Steelers defensive end Cameron Heyward doesn’t want to hear your excuses about the Steelers’ NFL schedule.
Heyward knows the Pittsburgh Steelers’ schedule blows, but what good will complaining do? Instead, the 32-year-old two-time All-Pro advocated for a different approach: Suck it up and play football.
With Pittsburgh’s opponents possessing a collective 0.574 winning percentage, there’s no doubt that the Steelers will have to overcome a number of obstacles in the NFL’s most difficult schedule this season. They’ll have to travel to Buffalo, Green Bay and Kansas City, home of three of the top quarterbacks in the league, while also traveling to Los Angeles, where Pittsburgh has historically failed to win under coach Mike Tomlin. On top of it all, the Steelers got absolutely screwed with NFL’s Week 18 matchup against the Seattle Seahawks.
Cam Heyward isn’t complaining about the Steelers’ schedule
Last season, the Steelers were similarly thrown under the bus in scheduling, and at this point, it seems the league has some kind of personal vendetta against Pittsburgh.
But Heyward isn’t hearing any of it. He’s not one to join the “whining” crowd, and his work ethic sets the tone for the work Pittsburgh will have to do this season — especially since this might be the Steelers’ last chance to make a run to the Super Bowl with Ben Roethlisberger, which means there are some key games they must win if they want to go far.
This will be Heyward’s 11th season on the black and gold, and he’ll be gunning for another playoff appearance no matter how tough the season looks. Buckle up, Steelers fans. This season will be wild.
