player. 53. Pick Analysis. AFC North . . Cleveland Browns . 2. Scouting Report

Praising a team due to a productive offseason before taking a snap might seem a bit too much of a good thing. That said, what Cleveland did to fix the defense this offseason just proved why Andrew Berry and Kevin Stefanski are the right people.

After allowing Rothlisberger to throw for over 500 yards of offense in the AFC Wild Card round, Berry solidified the back seven. Should this has been a team Denver would have faced last season, this would’ve came down to the quarterback position.

In retrospect, thanks to strong defenses, a good run game, and stout offensive line, it comes down to the gunslinger role again. Lock isn’t the only quarterback feeling the heat in the AFC.

On paper, the Browns or what the Broncos hope to be. The difference is the AFC North is much more winnable. A loss to Denver would actually hurts Cleveland more than it would the AFC West club. That said, showing that offseason expectations don’t always pan out might be the perfect  way for Denver to remain ahead in the wild card race.
