3. at Los Angeles Chargers

You would have to go back to 2013 to find the last time these two longtime divisional rivals. It’s been a series of sweeps when it comes to the Raiders and Chargers. Not long ago, it was Oakland vs. San Diego. Now it’s different settings for these franchises now located in Las Vegas and Los Angeles.

This past season, the teams took turns winning on each other’s home turf. In Week 9 at Los Angeles, Jon Gruden’s team held on for a 31-26 triumph when the Chargers saw a touchdown pass by quarterback Justin Herbert to Donald Parham Jr. taken off the board by instant replay.

Six weeks later on a Thursday night at Las Vegas, both clubs rolled up more than 400 total yards of offense. And the Raiders managed this feat despite the fact that Derek Carr was sidelined in the first half and replaced by Marcus Mariota.

The teams would eventually enter overtime and after Daniel Carlson gave Gruden’s squad a three-point lead, Herbert would end a drive with a one-year TD run and the Bolts came away with 30-27 win. All told, the Raiders have won three of the last four meetings between the clubs after dropping four straight in this rivalry from 2017-18.
