LeBron James, Anthony Davis won’t play against Rockets Wednesday night
By John Buhler
LeBron James, Anthony Davis will miss Wednesday night’s game vs. the Houston Rockets.
Nobody respects the Houston Rockets more than Los Angeles Lakers stars Anthony Davis and LeBron James do, not a soul.
As James is working his way back from a bum ankle for a second time, we have completely lost track of all the injuries Davis has had this year. The defending NBA champions are poised to finesse their way to another league title this summer, one play-in tournament game at a time. As they recover en route to a seventh-place finish, let the benchwarmers play the Rockets, please.
The Lakers might be raising a championship banner on Wednesday, but this will be an awful game.

It would take a miracle for the super banged up Lakers to repeat as NBA champions. They are destined for the play-in tournament and would likely have to face the No. 2-seeded Phoenix Suns in the first round if they were to qualify for the NBA Playoffs. Should they crush the Suns’ postseason dreams, it is a lot of LA Clippers, Utah Jazz and Denver Nuggets after that. Altitude?! Fantastic…
Even if the Lakers somehow pull off the greatest postseason parlay of all time and get to the NBA Finals, they still have to deal with the Brooklyn Nets, Milwaukee Bucks or the Philadelphia 76ers in a best-of-seven series to repeat.
Here’s to Davis and James enjoying Wednesday night’s victory over the Rockets in street clothes, because they’re going to need as much stored-up energy as possible for the upcoming playoff run.
