Brad Peacock

Brad Peacock is a well-known name in free agency due to his time with the Houston Astros. The only reason why Peacock remains on the open market is due to him undergoing arthroscopic surgery on his right shoulder this past October. However, he did hold a showcase for teams this past April, showing that he is healthy.

Peacock’s last season in Houston ended after three games due to shoulder issues, where he posted a 7.71 ERA. But 2019 was a much better campaign for the veteran. In 23 games, Peacock recorded a 4.12 ERA, a 1.19 WHIP, 96 strikeouts and 31 walks through 91.2 innings of work.

Overall, Peacock holds a cumulative 4.01 ERA through his nearly 10 year career. When healthy, Peacock has shown he can be a stable option in the back-end of a starting rotation. Taking that into consideration, general manager Alex Anthopoulos should give the right-hander a call to fill in for Soroka.
