2.1B Edwin Encarnacion

If the Cardinals were truly interested in adding another slugging first baseman, then they should take a look at Edwin Encarnacion.

Sure, he’s no longer in the prime of his career like he was during his time with the Toronto Blue Jays, but he is still a threat inside the batter’s box. While Encarnacion did post a measly .157 batting average in 44 games with the Chicago White Sox last season, he still managed to record 10 home runs and 19 RBI. Plus, you can’t overlook the 2019 season where he hit 34 home runs and 86 RBI during his split time with the Seattle Mariners and New York Yankees.

Overall, Encarnacion has recorded 424 home runs, 1,099 runs scored, 1,261 RBI and 1,832 hits in his 16-year career.

The Cardinals have power hitters like Goldschmidt and Arenado. Why not add one more in Encarnacion? You can never have enough power bats to bring off the bench, especially in must-win games late in the season.
