5. Joe Ngata, receiver

A four-star recruit in the 2019 class, Ngata has just 24 catches over 17 games thus far in his career at Clemson. However, the departures of  Amari Rodgers and Cornell Powell will also open up a big opportunity for him in 2021.

With an eye on that, Josh Edwards of CBS Sports had the junior ranked No. 15 (No. 1 among Clemson players) in his most recent very early top-100 ranking of 2022 draft prospects. Ngata will be a prominent target for quarterback D.J. Uiagalelei this season. He could blossom into a first-round pick in short order.

4. K.J. Henry, defensive end

The depth along the defensive line at Clemson has made Henry a rotational player thus far. But he has been a force off the edge, with 5.5 sacks and 12.5 tackles for loss during his career and five pass breakups over the last two seasons.

Henry, a top-15 overall recruit in the 2018 class according to 247 Sports, missed spring practice with an injury. But there appears to be no concern about his status for fall camp, or the start of the season.

If Henry puts it all together in 2021, the premium placed on edge rushers will assure him of being drafted (perhaps earlier than might be expected).
