PGA Championship sleeper No. 2: Marc Leishman (+6500)

Early in the season and particularly early in the 2021 calendar year, there weren’t a ton of positive signs from Marc Leishman. The big Australian has always been extremely talented and well-rounded, capable of popping up on the leaderboard anywhere. However, with missed cuts at the Arnold Palmer Invitational and THE PLAYERS Championship, things were looking bleak.

Of course, in his last three tournaments since then, Leishman has turned that narrative on its head in a massive, massive way. The Aussie finished T5 at The Masters in April before winning the Zurich Classic alongside Cameron Smith and then just narrowly finishing outside the top-20 last week at the birdie-fest known as the AT&T Byron Nelson.

The one drawback when it comes to looking at Leishman as a possible sleeper at the PGA Championship is that he has traditionally been a tad inconsistent with the driver, which can get you in a lot of trouble at Kiawah. With that said, he has hit the ball extremely well as of late and his ball-striking with the irons has been on-point.

Given the recent form and his pedigree for making big moves at majors, the odds are quite nice for Leishman as he could come to the Ocean Course and really push the favorites throughout the four-day affair.
