One look at college football’s absolutely loaded Week 1 schedule should have you so excited.
Labor Day Weekend has become synonymous with great college football, and for a good reason.
With the advent of high-profile kickoff games, the college season gets off on the right foot a weekend before the NFL comes back into our lives. This is a great time of year for college football to take over in full force. After having to wait until late September to get college games last year, this season’s Week 1 schedule is chock full of some incredible contests you do not get every fall.
Here are some of the best games on tap Labor Day Weekend throughout Power 5 college football.

This year, the Chick-fil-A Kickoff in Atlanta will feature a pair of games. The Alabama Crimson Tide facing the Miami Hurricanes on Saturday, Sept. 4 at 3:30 p.m. ET. Two days later, the Louisville Cardinals will take on the Ole Miss Rebels at 8:00 p.m. ET on Monday, Sept. 6. The Duke’s Mayo Classic will be between the Clemson Tigers and the Georgia Bulldogs in Charlotte on Saturday, too.
If those three neutral-site affairs were not enough, Florida State will host Notre Dame on Sunday afternoon. Some of the best games on Saturday include LSU at UCLA, Indiana at Iowa and Penn State at Wisconsin. Thursday night will give us Ohio State at Minnesota. And on Friday, we will get a great ACC game between Coastal division rivals North Carolina and Virginia Tech in Blacksburg.
Even with not all times and broadcasting partners being announced, Week 1 should be incredible.
