SEC Media Days 2021 will be in full force at Hoover, Alabama in the latter part of July.

After not having the media event spectacular a year ago due to COVID-19, SEC Media Days will be held from July 19-July 22 at the Hyatt Regency Birmingham – The Wynfrey Hotel in Hoover, Alabama.

18 of the last 19 SEC Media Days have been held at this location, including the most recent ahead of the 2019 college football season. So with that in mind, only six SEC head coaches have taken part at this event at their current institution. All 14 head coaches, along with three upperclassmen from each program, will go to the Greater Birmingham Area to meet with the college media.

Here is the schedule for this year’s SEC Media Days.

SEC Media Days 2021 schedule

Monday, July 19

  • Florida Gators head coach Dan Mullen
  • LSU Tigers head coach Ed Orgeron
  • South Carolina Gamecocks head Shane Beamer

Tuesday, July 20

  • Georgia Bulldogs head coach Kirby Smart
  • Kentucky Wildcats head coach Mark Stoops
  • Ole Miss Rebels head coach Lane Kiffin
  • Tennessee Volunteers head coach Josh Heupel

Wednesday, July 21

  • Alabama Crimson Tide head coach Nick Saban
  • Mississippi State Bulldogs head coach Mike Leach
  • Texas A&M Aggies head coach Jimbo Fisher
  • Vanderbilt Commodores head coach Clark Lea

Thursday, July 22

  • Arkansas Razorbacks head coach Sam Pittman
  • Auburn Tigers head coach Bryan Harsin
  • Missouri Tigers head coach Eliah Drinkwitz

The SEC wisely put at least one coach who is worth a quote or two on each day of the schedule. Dan Mullen and Ed Orgeron will help set the tone when they take to the podium on Monday, July 19. Lane Kiffin will make his triumphant return that is over a decade-plus in the making to SEC Media Days on Tuesday, July 20 along with the likes of Kirby Smart, Mark Stoops and Josh Heupel.

If there is one day to be in Hoover, that would have to be Wednesday, July 21. This is because it will be the day Nick Saban, Mike Leach and Jimbo Fisher will have the floor. There may never be a better day at SEC Media Days in the event’s existence. What is interesting is Eliah Drinkwitz, Bryan Harsin and Sam Pittman will all be making the debuts at SEC Media Days on Thursday, July 22.

After being denied one glorious coachspeak soundbite after another, we cannot wait for July 19.
