Baseball world reacts to Corey Kluber’s no-hitter vs the Rangers
Yankees pitcher Corey Kluber threw a no-hitter Wednesday night against a Rangers team that hoped he would be their savior just a year ago.
The impressive streak of no-hitters continued Wednesday night just one day after Detroit Tigers pitcher Spencer Turnbull threw a no-no of his own. This time it was New York Yankees pitcher Corey Kluber achieving the feat.
The kicker here was that he did it against his 2020 squad in the Texas Rangers. Kluber was traded to Texas last year, only to throw one inning before being out with an injury the rest of the year. He then signed with the Yankees and now the Rangers are no-hit for the second time in 2021.

This was a truly dominant performance from the two-time Cy Young Award winner. He only allowed one walk as he nearly had a perfect game.

Kluber is a former ace who is trying to get back to that level. The Yankees are paying him $11 million this year, so clearly they believe in him. He rewarded that faith with this amazing performance.

Kluber has won the top awards and he has been a true ace. But this was his first no-hitter and Yankees fans now see why the Rangers traded for him in the first place. For reference, this is the second time the Rangers have been no-hit this season.
There is no telling how many no-hitters will be thrown this season. It is only May 19 and fans just saw two in the past 24 hours. It may depend on what team is on the schedule as the Rangers, Seattle Mariners, and Cleveland Indians have all been no-hit twice this season.
