Giannis Antetokounmpo gives extremely honest answer about Bucks’ playoff outlook (Video)

Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo gave an extremely honest answer on the team’s outlook in the NBA Playoffs.

The Milwaukee Bucks have become a mainstay in the NBA Playoffs in recent years, but they have yet to make it to the NBA Finals since 1974. They were the presumptive favorites to win the Eastern Conference Championship last season in the Orlando bubble but were shockingly eliminated in the second round by the Miami Heat. Now, the Bucks begin their newest postseason run where they, ironically, will face off against the Heat in the opening round.

During a press conference on Thursday, Antetokounmpo was asked about the team’s playoff outlook as compared to years past. The Bucks star provided an honest answer, saying that the results and the team’s game are going to speak for themselves. “I don’t know if this year is gonna be different, I’m not gonna lie to you,” he said. “I didn’t say that. It might be the same, who knows? We’ll see. The results are gonna talk for themselves at the end, but at the end of the day, it’s don’t get too high, don’t get too low.”

The Bucks enter the 2021 NBA Playoffs as the 3-seed in the Eastern Conference, finishing just behind the first-place Philadelphia 76ers and second-place Brooklyn Nets. Milwaukee finished off the 2020-21 regular season by winning eight of their last 10 games, so they are carrying some momentum into the postseason. Interestingly enough, their last win of the regular season came against the Heat on May 15, securing the 122-108 victory.

This season, Antetokounmpo is averaging 28.1 points, 11.0 rebounds, 5.9 assists, 1.2 blocks and 1.2 steals per game through 61 appearances while shooting 56.9 percent from the field.

The Bucks will kick off their latest playoff run this Saturday against the Heat at 2:00 p.m. ET. While it’s an alarming answer on the surface, as Antetokounmpo said, the Bucks are going to let the results do the talking throughout the playoffs, which may very well end with the team winning the Larry O’Brien Trophy.
