Fox Sports’ commentator Joe Buck was on commentary for Saturday’s game between the Chicago Cubs and St. Louis Cardinals, which means social media users expressed their disdain.
Over a month into the season, the Chicago Cubs and St. Louis Cardinals have never faced off. That was until Friday, when the Cubs defeated their NL Central rivals 12-3 for the first game of the 2021 campaign.
On Saturday, Cardinals fans were hoping their favorite team could tie the series up against the Cubs in primetime baseball on Fox. Since it aired on that network, that means Joe Buck was on the call, who always garners a reaction on social media. Well, mostly a negative reaction, regardless of your feelings about him.
Joe Buck, please, for the love of God.......... pic.twitter.com/s4Stmm2mov

Joe Buck trends on social media for calling Cubs-Cardinals on Saturday
This is a weekly occurrence, regardless of whether he is calling an MLB game or an NFL game alongside former Dallas Cowboys quarterback Troy Aikman. There are always vocal detractors who let the world know their feelings about Buck.
While there are outspoken critics of Buck, there are also those that express their viewpoint that Buck is actually a great commentator.
I don't care what anyone has to say, I enjoy Joe Buck calling baseball and football.

I’ll just never understand the collective disdain for Joe Buck. He’s fine. There are plenty of broadcasters more deserving of your scorn.

Regardless of how you feel, Buck has been entrusted with calling two professional sports for Fox. Let’s not forget, he is getting inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame for a reason.
As for the game itself, the Cardinals evened up their first series of the season with a 2-1 win over the Cubs. After trailing1-0, the Cardinals tied things up in the bottom of the fifth inning on an RBI single by Lane Thomas. Then, the Cardinals secured the win in the seventh with a solo home run by catcher Yadier Molina.
The Fox broadcaster will eventually disappear from the top trending list on Twitter….until he calls his next game.
