NBA Playoffs: Knicks fans got loud during Game 1

Words can not do justice for just how loud fans are inside the Garden. All you have to do is listen to the reactions in the tweets above to hear Knicks fans jubilance.

The David Fizdale era of Knicks basketball went out with a whimper, and the team decided to hire former Chicago Bulls head coach Tom Thibodeau to lead the young team out of the basement in the Eastern Conference and back into a playoff contender. All Thibodeau needed was one season, as the roster has bought in, withMost Improved Player of the Year candidate Julius Randle leading the way.

New York finished the season with a 41-31 record and clinched fourth-place in the East to give them home-court advantage in the first-round. And they sure did have the advantage, as you heard nearly 15,000 fans cheer on the Knicks, and get into the heads of the Hawks.

There is no other way to explain it other than that playoff basketball is finally back in Madison Square Garden.
