Philadelphia Phillies outfielder Roman Quinn had to be carried off the field after suffering Achilles injury during Saturday’s game against the Tampa Bay Rays.
The Philadelphia Phillies continued their trip down in Florida with a two-game series against the Tampa Bay Rays. After splitting their four-game set against the rival Miami Marlins, the Phillies looked to take game one. Unfortunately, they lost one of their outfielders to injury.
Outfielder Roman Quinn was on first base as the tying run in the top of the fifth-inning with the team down 2-0 to Tampa Bay. After Ronald Torreyes hit a triple to left field, Quinn rounded third to tie the game. In the process, Quinn stumbled to the ground, got up and hopped on one leg to touch home plate.
Quinn laid on the ground after touching home, and had to be carried off the field by manager Joe Girardi and the team’s head trainer.
