Indianapolis 500 2021: Start time, live stream reddit for Indy 500
Here is how to watch and stream the 2021 Indy 500.
The 2020 running of the Indianapolis 500 took place in August, and as with most sporting events last year, lacked that traditional fan support. Things will be a bit different for this year’s Indy 500.
Well over 100,000 fans will be in the stands at Indianapolis Motor Speedway as IndyCar’s best drivers compete for the opportunity to call themselves a champion.
12:45 p.m. ET is when the actual race begins. Coverage begins earlier in the morning as driver introductions will start before noon ET.
Takuma Sato won last year’s race in what can only be described as a unique event. The fact it was not on Memorial Day Weekend was different, but the lack of any fans in the stands made for an eerie afternoon. But Sato probably didn’t care too much after capturing his second Indy 500 crown.
Just having this event on television during Memorial Day Weekend is a nice return to some sort of normalcy. Certain sporting events define parts of the calendar, and the Indy 500 is no different.
So who should fans keep an eye on this year? Scott Dixon shows up as the betting favorite, with Colton Herta close behind. Last year’s champion, Sato, is down the list a bit at +2000.
