Charles Barkley has special punishment in mind for fan who threw water bottle at Kyrie Irving
NBA analyst Charles Barkley had an interesting idea for how to handle the Celtics fan who threw a water bottle at Brooklyn Nets star Kyrie Irving.
The Celtics fan who threw a bottle of water at Kyrie Irving is getting more than he bargained for.
Boston PD has charged him with a felony, but it could have been worse. He could have been forced to face even harsher punishment if Charles Barkley had his say.
The NBA analyst had a very satisfying solution to the whole affair.
“Look at that little punk ass,” Barkley said when TNT showed a video of police putting the fan in handcuffs. “Just take him downstairs and let Kyrie handle that.”
Charles Barkley wishes Kyrie Irving could have faced the Celtics fan
It would have been nice to see the fan get what was coming to him. He probably wouldn’t have been so bold having to face the 6-foot-2, 195-pound professional athlete.
We could take it even further. Take the two and put them in a boxing ring. Make it a whole event.
Okay, that’s not particularly realistic, but it would be a sight to see. And it would make other fans things twice about crossing that line at an arena. It’s bad enough this has become a talking point at multiple venues in the NBA playoffs this year.
Regardless of Irving’s contentious past with the Celtics, no player deserves to have things thrown at them.
Irving came out on top in any case. The fan is facing his legal comeuppance while Irving and the Nets lead the series 3-1.
On Sunday, Brooklyn routed Boston at TD Garden, 141-126. Irving had 39 points, 11 rebounds, two assists and two steals.
The series will continue on Tuesday back in Brooklyn. If the Nets win, the series will be over and Irving will continue his NBA title quest.
