Chicago White Sox outfielder Billy Hamilton has an impressive slide home during Tuesday’s game against the Cleveland Indians.
There are exciting ways to take the lead in an MLB game, but we can guarantee that no one is going to top what Chicago White Sox outfielder Billy Hamilton did on Tuesday against the Cleveland Indians.
In the top of the second inning, White Sox outfielder Billy Hamilton stepped up to the plate with Jake Lamb and Zack Collins on base with the team down 2-0. Hamilton took a 92.7-mph fastball from Cleveland ace Shane Beiber and sent over into the gap between right and center field. Hamilton ended up on third base thanks to Cleveland’s fielding, but catcher Austin Hedges lost the ball from his glove after trying to tag out Collins. That allowed Chicago’s lightning-fast outfielder to slide head first into home plate for the score.
White Sox: Billy Hamilton’s impressive slide home vs. Cleveland
What an amazing away to take the lead. It was officially ruled as a double for Hamilton, who scored thanks to two errors. However, it was very short-lived lead, as Cleveland scored four unanswered runs on an RBI single by Harold Ramirez, an RBI double from Jose Ramirez and a two-run homer by Hedges.
Cleveland ended up winning 6-5, but this sequence by Hamilton will be included in the end of season highlight reel.
