In a rough look for Tony La Russa, dashcam footage has surfaced of Tony La Russa’s DUI arrest from 2020.

Unfortunately for Tony La Russa, the embarrassment from his DUI in 2020 doesn’t seem to be fading at all. Matter of fact, things are only getting worse for him. That’s because dashcam footage has now made its way online from his arrest.

In the video, La Russa tries to get out of trouble by saying he’s a Hall-of-Famer. So, per La Russa, you’re allowed to drive drunk if you’ve won the World Series and have been inducted in Cooperstown? Goodness.

The incident occurred in February of 2020, but it wasn’t filed until right before the Chicago White Sox hired La Russa to take over as manager of the club. Shortly after that, countless headlines were made from the news.

So many people were against Chicago hiring a 76-year-old skipper to take over a young team, and things were only made worse once the news of his DUI became public. Now, this latest video of his arrest is only more frustrating.

Last month, La Russa also went viral on social media for the way he handled Yermin Mercedes hitting a homer on a 3-0 count in a blowout against the Minnesota Twins. La Russa claimed Mercedes broke the ‘unwritten rules’ of baseball, while just about everyone who doesn’t currently claim social security disagreed with him.

Despite all of the drama on and off the field, the White Sox remain in first place of the AL Central standings, currently holding a 3.5 game lead over the Cleveland Indians. Let’s see how long La Russa can keep this team at the top.
