Reggie Bush, Andrew Luck headline 2022 College Football Hall of Fame ballot
By John Buhler
Reggie Bush and Andrew Luck are among the biggest names on the 2022 College Football Hall of Fame ballot.
The College Football Hall of Fame Class of 2022 could be one of the best ever, with marquee players like Reggie Bush and Andrew Luck prominently featured on this year’s ballot.
To be eligible for induction, a player must have played his last college season at least 10 years ago and no longer be playing. He also cannot have played his last college football more than 50 years ago. A coach becomes eligible three years after retiring. He can also be immediately eligible if he is 70-years-old after retiring or 75-years-old if he is still an active coach in the college profession.

While Bush and Luck are likely candidates to get in at some point down the line, you can take one look at this list and see an absurd amount of worthy candidates of enshrinement. You have to wonder how some of these icons are not in already.
In total, there are 99 players and 33 coaches on the ballot across all levels of college football, including 77 players and seven coaches from the FBS level. The announcement of who will comprise the 2022 class will be announced at a later date.
“It’s an enormous honor to just be on the College Football Hall of Fame ballot considering more than 5.47 million people have played college football and only 1,038 players have been inducted,” said National Football Foundation President & CEO Steve Hatchell.
“The Hall’s requirement of being a First-Team All-American creates a much smaller pool of about 1,500 individuals who are even eligible. Being in today’s elite group means an individual is truly among the greatest to have ever played the game, and we look forward to announcing the 2022 College Football Hall of Fame Class early next year.”
