Massive news has arrived for the Los Angeles Lakers, as it looks like superstar forward Anthony Davis is ready to rock for Game 6.

With the Los Angeles Lakers facing elimination on Thursday night going up against the Phoenix Suns, the defending champs will have one of the best players in the game ready to prevent that from happening. That’s right, Anthony Davis is reportedly going to give it a go.

According to Arizona Sports 98.7’s John Gambadoro, and later backed up by The Athletic’s Shams Charania, Davis is expected to start for the Lakers in Game 6. We all saw just how much Los Angeles missed him in Game 5, with the Suns recording a dominant 115-85 victory.

With LA’s season in the balance, though, Davis is ready to fight through the pain of his groin injury to help his teammates out.

Anthony Davis returning for LA is massive for the Lakers

Obviously, the Lakers’ odds of winning Game 6 have just skyrocketed. Davis is the total package. Whenever he’s on the hardwood for LA, the team’s game certainly goes up another level. While he may still be a bit banged up, Davis wasn’t going to sit on the bench and watch the Lakers do battle without him.

Though his return is big, that doesn’t change things for the Suns here. They know that with a win on Thursday evening, they can indeed send the Lakers home from the postseason. At the same time, Phoenix and Devin Booker would be sending a massive statement to the rest of the league.

Throughout the year, the Lakers have been considered prime contenders to once again win the NBA Finals. Booker will hope to shatter those dreams in Game 6, but Davis will have something to say about that.

dark. Next. Suns on the cusp of an upset, but no one should be surprised
