Cubs, White Sox will have full capacity beginning on June 11

Exciting news has arrived for baseball fans, as there will no longer be a limited capacity for baseball games at Wrigley Field and Guaranteed Rate Field. 

With the summer right around the corner, folks in Chicago just received some amazing news from the city. Mayor Lori Lightfoot announced that come June 11, Chicago will be moving into phase 5 of its reopening program. With this, there will be no more restrictions on businesses.

With this, that means that both Chicago Cubs fans and Chicago White Sox supporters will be able to pack Wrigley Field and Guaranteed Rate Field at full capacity, with 100 percent attendance being allowed starting on that date.

Chicago will have no restrictions for fan attendance come June 11

It goes without saying, but this is incredible news for baseball fans. To start the season, both the Cubs and White Sox allowed around 25 percent capacity. In late May, that number then increased to 60 percent. Now, in about a week, both clubs will welcome their doors for all to enjoy.

With vaccinations being administered across the country and cases of COVID-19 continuing to fall, stadiums are letting more and more folks in. It’s another step in life returning back to normal. What’s better than grabbing a hot dog and a cold beverage at Wrigley Field or Guaranteed Rate Field in June, July or August? It’s truly hard to beat.

To make things even better, both the Cubs and White Sox are in the middle of impressive campaigns. The White Sox are in first place of the AL Central standings with their 33-22 record, while the Cubs are at the top of the NL Central with their 32-23 mark. Regardless of which club you root for, you’ve been able to enjoy some great baseball this spring. Now, you have a fun summer to look forward to, with no restrictions whatsoever.
