NBA Twitter thinks Damian Lillard should force a trade out of Portland
NBA Twitter thinks Damian Lillard should get out of Portland after the Denver Nuggets eliminated the Trail Blazers in the first round.
Another year, another disappointing playoff exit for Damian Lillard and the Portland Trail Blazers.
The Nuggets eliminated the Blazers in Game 6, erasing a deficit to grab the 126-115 victory.
Lillard was phenomenal once again in the postseason, but he couldn’t carry his team through the second round. No one could accuse the guard of doing too little. He’s now one of just four NBA players to score 200 points and dish 60 assists in a playoff series, per ESPN Stats & Info. And he only had six games to do it.
NBA Twitter is sick of seeing Damian Lillard waste away in Portland
The big takeaway from NBA fans on Twitter had to do with Lillard just being better than Portland.
The desire to see him traded somewhere he could contend popped up all over the place.

Blazers fans won’t want to see Lillard traded, but they would like to see him get a lot more help.
Trading CJ McCollum, who had 21 points, four rebounds and three assists in Game 6, was a popular suggestion.
Lillard got a supermax contract extension from the Trail Blazers, keeping him around through 2025. The only way he’ll leave Portland is by asking for a trade. Notably, the player has downplayed the idea of going elsewhere.
It’s more likely Portland will try to keep him happy and in place by making big changes for the coming season. NBA fans from all over just want to see one of the game’s most exciting players put in a better position to win.
Everyone is denied when Lillard gets just six games of playoff basketball to wow the fans.
