Golden State Warriors guard Klay Thompson was living his best life on Instagram Live while on a boat on Saturday.
The Golden State Warriors gave it all they had this season, but they just missed out on making the NBA Playoffs after losing to the Los Angeles Lakers and Memphis Grizzlies in the play-in tournament. With the campaign over, the Warriors are resting and healing up heading into the 2021-22 season.
On Saturday, Warriors guard Klay Thompson went on Instagram Live to talk with fans while he was on a boat. Truly, Thompson was living his best life, as evidenced in the tweets below.
Warriors: Klay Thompson living his best life while on a boat
Perhaps the biggest takeaway from Thompson’s live chat on a boat was how much he missed playing for the Warriors the past couple of years. That, and he sounds absolutely hyped to get back on the court in the near future.
During the Warriors’ final trip to the NBA Finals in 2019, Thompson tore his ACL on a dunk attempt in Game 6 against the Toronto Raptors. After the Raptors won, the Warriors re-signed Thompson to a massive five-year, $189.9 million contract that offseason, with the expectation that he would return for the 2020-21 season.
On the night of the 2020 NBA Draft, Thompson tore his right Achilles tendon during a work-out. His season was over before it started.
The Warriors not only had to deal with Thompson’s injury, but also to second-overall pick James Wiseman, who suffered a season-ending knee injury. Even so, guard Stephen Curry carried the team all the way into the play-in round, but the team fell just short of clinching.
With Thompson returning next season, Warriors fans are no doubt ecstatic about the team’s potential. Thompson misses playing in the NBA Finals, and the team may very well make it that far once he steps on the court in uniform again.
