Kristaps Porzingis was nowhere to be found as the LA Clippers eliminated the Dallas Mavericks from the 2021 NBA Playoffs. Now, NBA Twitter thinks there’s a new Pandemic P.
Either Luka Doncic or Kawhi Leonard was destined to have a disappointing first-round playoff exit this year.
In the end, both Doncic and Leonard made their marks. One got help from his co-star. The other didn’t.
Kristaps Porzingis, NBA Twitter is looking at you.
NBA Twitter is furious with Kristaps Porzingis for letting Luka Doncic down
In the decisive Game 7 between the Dallas Mavericks and LA Clippers on Sunday, Doncic went off for 46 points, 14 assists and 7 rebounds. Porzingis, meanwhile, pitched in an entirely insufficient 16 points and 11 rebounds while missing all five of his 3-point attempts.
By the final horn, NBA Twitter had dubbed Porzingis the new Pandemic P.

Others were at their wits’ end with Porzingis’ shot selection in general.

Doncic has every right to feel let down by his teammate, who averaged seven fewer points and 3.5 fewer rebounds than the regular season.

If Porzingis has any sense, he’ll apologize to Doncic and his teammates for his completely impactless playoff performance.

You’d think a 7-foot-3 center could get more production just by accident.

The Mavericks really do need him to figure things out, because they have a lot of money wrapped up in his contract.

The Mavs will have to head home disappointed while wondering what tweaks they can make to give Doncic true support in the playoffs. Porzingis won’t come off well in that analysis, especially knowing he was limited to single-digit scoring in three of the seven games in this series. Sunday was the only game he managed more than 6 rebounds.
