Here’s how much money Aaron Rodgers could lose by not attending Packers minicamp

Aaron Rodgers is reportedly not expected to show up to Green Bay Packers minicamp, and is slated to be fined a huge sum of money.
The Green Bay Packers‘ offseason got way more interesting than last year after reports indicated that quarterback Aaron Rodgers had no desire to play for the team any longer. With the team having mandatory minicamp beginning this Tuesday, we can tell you who won’t be there — the reigning NFL MVP. And he will lose a huge chunk of change if he does so.
According to ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter, Rodgers is not expected to show up for Green Bay’s mandatory minicamp on Tuesday. If he fails to report to for all three days of camp, the team could fine him a total of $93,085.
Packers: Aaron Rodgers not expected to report to mandatory minicamp this week
ESPN Packers reporter Rob Demovsky writes in an article that Rodgers will be fined $15,515 if he no-shows Tuesday, $31,030 for missing Wednesday and $46,540 if he does not report on Thursday. Hence the $93,000-plus total fine.
As Schefter reports, the Packers do have the option to waive the fine altogether by designating Rodgers as an excused absence. It is unknown what direction the team will go. NFL Media’s Tom Pelissero reports that Rodgers has already “jeopardized” his $500,000 workout bonus for missing out on organized team activities this offseason.
Rodgers has said he takes issue with the “philosophy” of the front office during an appearance on SportsCenter this past month. Since that infamous report dropped on the first night of the NFL Draft, the Packers have stressed they have no intention of trading Rodgers to another team.
With Rodgers absent, the Packers will have 2020 first-round pick Jordan Love and free agent signings Blake Bortles and Kurt Benkert as the available quarterbacks at minicamp this week.
Regardless of whether he is handed a fine or not, you can officially classify Aaron Rodgers as a holdout.
