Alabama transfer RB Keilan Robinson reunites with Steve Sarkisian at Texas
Alabama transfer running back Keilan Robinson is following Steve Sarkisian to Texas.
Keilan Robinson didn’t waste any time making his transfer decision.
After spending less than a week in the Transfer Portal, Robinson now says he’s heading to Texas.
Robinson told 247Sports he is committed to the Longhorns, which will reunite him with former Alabama offensive coordinator Steve Sarkisian.

Robinson was a four-star prospect in the class of 2019, ranked by 247Sports as the No. 244 players and No. 15 running back in the class.
Fans of the Crimson Tide only got to enjoy a brief glimpse of the 5-foot-9, 184-pound speedster. He played in eight games as a freshman with 254 yards and two touchdowns on 39 carries. He averaged 6.5 yards per touch.
Robinson opted out of the 2020 season, so he didn’t get the chance to establish himself further into the rotation.
At that time, Alabama had Najee Harris shining at running back, so Robinson was always going to have to wait his turn. Harris is now with the Steelers and the starring role in the running back unit is up for grabs. Despite that, Robinson made the choice to take his chances elsewhere.
Alabama will have to make do with Brian Robinson Jr. and others to carry the load.
The Crimson Tide’s loss is the Longhorn’s gain. Robinson will have a nearly full slate of eligibility for the long haul having played just one season.
Texas has Bijan Robinson set to star at running back this year, but the arrival of Keilan Robinson will help make up for the transfer of Keaontay Ingram, who left for USC.
Robinson is the second Alabama transfer to land with Texas this year, following linebacker Ben Davis.
