Meet the Swedish tight end with offers from Ohio State, Alabama and more
Theodor Melin Ohrstrom is a Swedish tight end recruit who is impressing some of the biggest programs in college football.
When someone thinks about college football recruiting pipelines, Sweden is surely not the first one that comes to mind, and that is probably for good reason.
In 2019, there were only seven Swedish players in college football, and all of them were on the offensive or defensive line.
But don’t tell Theodor Melin Ohrstrom that.
Ohrstrom is a 6-foot-6, 245-pound tight end hailing from the Scandinavian country, and he has turned heads at multiple FBS programs.
Theodor Melin Ohrstrom from Sweden is getting offers from the best college football programs
The most recent school to offer him is Ohio State, which hosted him and several other International players at a camp on Monday. Ohrstrom and others were there as a part of the scouting service Premier Players International, which is an organization that wishes to shed light on International college football prospects that they feel are undervalued.
After impressing the coaching staff for the Buckeyes, Day and company decided to offer the Swede, who has yet to be ranked by 247Sports in their recruiting rankings.
Alabama has also offered Ohrstrom as well, who visited the Tuscaloosa campus via the same program that visited Columbus.
Arizona State, Cincinnati, Florida Atlantic, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Kansas State, Marshall, Minnesota, South Alabama and UCF have all also offered the rising tight-end prospect, according to 247Sports.
He also visited a camp at Clemson last Wednesday but has not received an offer from the Tigers just yet.
It will be a while before we get to see Ohrstrom on a college football field, but with more and more big offers stacking up for him by the day, it seems inevitable that he’ll be making catches in front of raucous college crowds in the future.
