The Chicago Bears signed first-round pick Justin Fields to a four-year $18.8 million contract that includes an $11 million signing bonus.
Justin Fields has signed his rookie contract and it may not be too soon to sign him to an extension if you ask Bears fans. According to Tom Peliserro, the Bears signed Fields to a four-year deal worth $18,871,952 and includes a $11,085,056 signing bonus.
If Fields ends up being as good as Bears fans believe he can be, this will be a significant bargain and Fields will cash in with a massive payday in four years when he’s due for an extension.

Fields and the Bears are working in their minicamp this week before taking some time off before coming together for training camp at the end of July.
That’s when Fields will be watched even more intently as he makes the most of his reps to earn the trust of head coach Matt Nagy to name him the starting quarterback. For now, the Bears have insisted on Dalton being the starter with the plan of sitting Fields for much of his rookie season as Nagy saw the Chiefs do with Patrick Mahomes when he was in Kansas City.
We’ll see how that plan changes and evolves when training camp gets underway and Fields does his thing in practice and in the preseason.
